Bradstreet's to morrow will say: Trads reports as a whols ars mors uni formly favorable than for soma time. Di tributloa at retail has quits generally im proved, largely because of colder weather and the realisation of bumper corn and oats crops, though some parts of ths Southwest and ths South report that opn weather has deterred Improvement. However, tho im provement In ths retail lines has resulted In larger volume of jobbing re-orders, princi pally for seasonable dratod boots and shoes and women's wearlnr apparel. Quiet continues In ths textile trades, and while ths undercurrent la conservatively cheerful, there la no anticipation of future business In largo volume. Holiday goods are being shipped in largo volume and traveling men are sending In better orders for Spring goods. The large crops ars taken to augur lower prices for foodstuffs, but thia Is not looked for Immediately, and some products, notably eggs and butter, are very high. At the same time, collections havs -Improved, but pay ments are not yet all that they should be. Industrial operations show a little better ment. Some textile mills have resumed, but affairs In the Iron and steel trad havs not aaaumed such shane as to allow a clear pre diction regarding the future. "While soms rail orders are expectea mis montn. ips -nays, as a whole, do not give much promise of ordering heavily soon. A significant feature Is that transactions In wool for export are profitable. This week English buyers purchased large quantities In the Boston market. Eastern shoe manufacturers are running two-thirds to three-fourths capacity. SENTIMENT IS CO'SST. RVATTTE Ilnantlal Conditions Not Clearly Deanad. NEW YORK, Nov. 11. B. O- Dun & Co.'g weekly review of trade tomorrow will say: In its bearing upon the future buying pow er of the country, the most Important de velopment of the week Is ths official con firmation of the harvesting of ths biggest corn crop on record, considerably over S.Ouo. OOt) bushels. The Government report of cot ton ginned Is also helpful, indicating a crop in r-iocii of last year. The business outlook, however, Is doubt ful and under conaervatlvs control, with ths volume of transactions considerably below full capacity. The financial situation con tinues to maintain an ascendancy over ths commercial, and while there is no sub stantial recession of the more hopeful senti ment recently established, financial condi tions are not clearly donned. The passing of the Congressional and Stats elections removes one Important uncertainty, but enough time has elapsed in which to form a complete judgment as to the ulti mate effect upon trade Interest a Physical conditions which make for continued Na tional prosperity are not nearly all that could be dslred. What la holding back the full measure of business activity and pro tit that la desired are perplexities of man's own making, which spring out of the conflict ing interests of competing classes. Iron and steel trade is waiting for ths railroads to make their rail and other pur chases, while ths railroads have been wait ing for the rate question to be settled and the election and- financial uncertainties to bo removed. The dry goods market Is In a waiting con dition with the bulk of transactions for im mediate requirements. Increasing consump tion of copper la one of the hopeful features vt the situation and the greater magnitude of export trade la another. Shoe conditions are most stable, but the volume of trsde continues moderate. Sole leather holds firm In price with a steady de mand, bnt upper leathers, particularly grains and splits ars dull as ever. , Bank Clearings. NEW YORK. Nov. 11.
