Vndergraduates.
EUGENE. Or.. July 22. (Special.)
Much enthusiasm and general satis
faction are manifest among the reg
ular university students remaining in
Eugene during the Summer over the
indorsement of Professor L. R. Alder
man for State Superintendent of Public
Instruction by the Republican state as
sembly In Portland yesterday. When
the news came last night an impromptu
rally In the novel form of a pajama
parade was started through the streets
by the men in the fraternity houses.
The students marched for several
hours, singing, shouting and serenad
ing the various sonority houses. The
rally concluded at the home of Presi
dent Campbell, who - was roundly
cheered together with Professor Alder
man. C. W. Robison was yell leader.
Professor Alderman is an alumnus of
the University of Oregon and has been
professor of education here for several
years. In the campaign made by the
university three years ago for an In
creased appropriation, fllr. Alderman
took a leading part in organizing the
alumni and working for the university.
Students here will give him their
hearty support.
