yesterday spent a pleasant hour with an
old college friend who had come to see
him. Twice a day he Is taken in his
wheel chair to the great bathhouse,
where he takes the steam cabinet bath
and treatment. Dr. R. O. Dresser, the at
tending physician, is hopeful of continued
improvement, although the progress so
far made has not been very rapid.

CATTLE DISEASE KILLED
Wilson Declares Outbreak In. Eust

vVASHIXGTOX. Dec. 1. Secretary
Wilson today declared that the foot
and mouth disease among cattle which
has been prevalent In the states of
ilichigan. New York, Pennsylvania and
Maryland is now under control. It Is
estimated that 1000 afflicted animals
have been destroyed.
