Tomorrow ntght h. will deliver an other addresa befor. th. voters of Forest Judge Thompson la recognized as one or the most eloquent orators on the Pa cific Coast and there Is every assurance that his audience will rival that which greeted Senator Beveridge a week ago. In view of the fact that his address will deal principally with the subject of In junctions, the laboring men of Portland are especially invited to attend the meet ing. Secretary McArthur yesterday named the following committee from the Portland Bar Association which will en tertain Judge Thompson while he Is in the city: James Kerr. B. B. Bekkman. Lawrence A. McNary and W. D. Fenton. county central committee will be lo cated In suite 200 of the Chamber of Commerce building, in conjunction with the state and National committees. Furnscth to Address Cnlons. Organized labor of this city is mak ing extensive arrangements for Its antl-Taft anti-Injunction demonstra tion which will be held in the Armory tomorrow night. The meeting prom ises to be one of the largest labor gatherings in the history of the city. Andrew Furuseth. Coast Magnate) Is Confident That Conditions Will Improve With Election of Taft, John Cort. boss theatrical magnate of the Pacific Coast, and the one man west of the Mississippi to whom the big New York managers take off their hats, was in the -city yesterday, in company with Mrs. Cort, on their way from an Eastern trip to their home In Seattle. Mr. Cort spent considerable time In New York and Boston studying the theatrical situation, and arranging for his various road productions. "Things theatrical are In a bad way In the Kast." said Mr. Cort. ' "Not only our business, but every line is seri ously affected by the campaign. Every thing seems to be In the air pending the election. When Taft Is chosen as President, as he certainly will be. there will be a general advance move ment. A month ago it looked as If Bryan had a chance, but the develop ments of the last few weeks have eliminated Bryan from the running. In my opinion. Tafts election is certain. We took straw votes on all the trains from New York to Portland, and the result showed at least seven out of 10 votes for the big man from Ohio." Mr. Cort's attractions, Florence Rob erts and Max FIgman, In their new play, "Commencement uay, nu many other attractions, in which "the big chief is interested, have already opened or will soon commence the sea son of Western touring, which prom ises to be entirely successful. Mr. Cort has been In almost contin uous conference with his partner, Cal vin Hellig and others interested In theatrical matters, during his stay here. Saddest of all in connection with his visit Is. however, the an nouncement that there are no new de velopments in regard to a new modern theater for Portland. And that is the chief item in which local theatergoers are Interested. ADDRESS REALTY BOARD H. V. Sawyer Will Discuss Legal Phase of Street Work. "The legal aspect of street improve ment" Is the subject of an address by Harold W. Sawyer to be delivered to night. The address Is under the auspices of the Portland Realty Board and will be given In the convention hall of tha Commercial Club at 8 o'clock. Mr. Sawyer is an attorney of this city who has given his subject much thought and study, both here and in New York, of which city he was a resident for some years. Property-owners and real estate dealers are asked by the Board to attend this lecture in the belief that the matter will be presented in a manner both Instruc tive and entertaining.
