The price of July cotton option reached a new high record for the present movement today, when sold at 10.41 cents, which was 47 points above Saturday's closing price, and more than two cents per pound hipher than the lowest record last month, last month. The advance in price was made amid excited trading. The shorts were very urgent buyers as a result of the strength of the English market, reports of condi tions Indicating an advance in the price of spot cotton and on the expectation of rain In the Western part of the cotton belt. Some of the speculators who had been buying heavily recently were heavy sell ers on the advance today, taking profits on lines of cotton reported to have been purchased 40 to SO points lower.
