CHINESE GOOD. SAMARITAN
TALK OF PANAMA AFFAIRS
Finds Drunken Printer and Takes
Him to Police Station.
A Chinese Good Samaritan was dis
covered last night in the person of Ah
Tons, a Chinese laundryman who works
in South Portland. On Second street
about 15:30 o'clock ,he came across
the prostrate body of a man lying half
on the sidewalk and half in the gutter.
A gold chain dangled from his waist
coat, a gold watch was in his pocket, as
was plenty of money, and he was drunk.
After a moment's thought Ah Fong
grabbed the limp form, and swinging It
over his shoulder, carried It off to the
police station, where he ' confided mod
estly to Captain Bailey his story.
"Me findee man in stleet. Think him
gottee plenty money and gold watch.
Flald somebody steal him money and
watch so me bling him In. Good night."
Captain Bailey thanked the olive
colored embryo sleuth, and on searching
the unknown found that he had a fine
gold watch ard chain and 150 in hia
possession. Later he ascertained that
the owner's name was O. D. Doehring,
that he was a printer, and that he had
been having a "time." A charge of
drunk was entered.
