Receipts of eftgs are gradually falling off and the market Is strengthening as the end of the flush season approaches. The demand, both local and shipping. Is good. The mar ket was quoted tlrm on the street yesterday at lTtflTH cents. Orders were to from the North at the lower figure, which were not filled. Poultry receipts were not heavy nor was the demand urgent and previous prices were generally obtained except in the case of email chickens, which were about SO cents a down lower. Some large shippt" orders for butter ara being rilled and this keeps the market fairly well cleaned up and steady. Slorm Interferes With Fruit Trade. The wet weather Interfered somewhat wtth trade in the fruit and vegetable line. A car of bananas was received In the fore noon, but their condition was not as good s. the precftllnr shipment. A car of oranges was due last nlpht. Receipts of strawberries were litfht and they moved at unchanged Trices. No he-rries will be tn today, owing to rain In California. The steamer brought up a general assort ment of Southern ventabtes. Local rhubarb Is row coming In freely and sells at 4$M& cen-s. Potatora Advance $2 a Ton, TACOM . Wah.. ApHJ 2.1. (Special. 1 The feature of the markets today was an advance of S2 a ton in the price of the bet Yakima potatoes, making the quota tion now $1N. Spuds of the next best grade are being offered at $1S a ton. Home grown spuds are a!o brooming scarcer and this market has strengthened so that an announcement of an advance In the price of them Is exsected to be made soon. That It is the habit of a band of Greeks to eontrretrate every nlfrht In the pool and billiard hall at 289 Burnslcle street, and to enpage In wordy discussions, much to the annoyance of neighbors who are try ing to sleep, was the statement made yesterday before Juctee Gantenbein In the Circuit Court. Alexander K Cliisolm and Caroline B. "Wilson were the com plaining witnesses, and Peter Hossos, pro prietor of the billiard hall, was the de fendant. Chisolm is the proprietor of the Hotel Phillip, on Burnslde street, be tween Fourth and Fifth streets, while Mrs. Wilson owns the block on which the hotel stands. The billiard hall Is on the ground floor of the building;. Chisolm said that the noisy Greeks sometimes remained thoroughly awake, and kept would-be sleepers in that condi tion until 4 A. M. For this reason, he said, about six rooms directly above the billiard hall could not be rented. Chisolm and Mrs. "Wilson sought the court for an order restraining Rossos from permitting; his countrymen to be so noisy at unseem ly hours. MeKenna Sued for $J 1 7.
