Meng-e Iemaad and North era Orders Keep the Market Bare, Speculators who expected to put away eggs at a low price this year have been disappointed. There is little chance of the market going any lower than It is now, and consequently th storage operators are making1 up for toat time and putting- away rcr fast a they can secure them. This demand, together with th atcady inquiry from the Northern markers, have- given lov-al prices a very firm tone. There waa a good demand yesterday for hens and small chickens and former prices were obtained. An Increase in their cream empply Is ra torted by .moat of the city creameries, but there I no surplus yet and tha market is quoted Arm. Supplies of outside butter are growing on Tront street, but tha demand is sufficient to absorb most of the arrlva'.a. HOPS MOVB FKCTI.Y AT I-OW PRICKS Surplus a the MjU I-lkely to Be Wiped Out Soon. April. 14. That he joined the ranks of tho anti-noise so ciety and thnt he did not believe a 14 foot channel down the Mississippi River could be successfully dredged, were the things Samuel M. Clemens (Mark Twain) had to tell reporters on his return from a long vacation In Ber muda. He said: "I have returned from my trip a re former. I have joined the ranks of tha antl-nolse society. I have retired from the making of after-dinner speeches and the lecture platform. No one can tolerate noise, you know, unless they are the noisemakers. I am through, making a noise and so I insist on quiet." ""Mr. Twain, what do you think of the scheme to improve our interior water ways by dredging a 14-foot channel down the Mississippi River?" was asked. "I have no sentimental interest in such a project and I have too many realities to do with a will-o -tne-wisp. When the Almighty built the earth, he knew very well that a 14-foot channel from Chicago to the Gulf would have been an excellent and much-needed thing, but he also knew that it would tax even his resources. If there were 14 Banks of England behind the scheme and 14 more behind them there would not be enough available money to finance the scheme. "I know the Mississippi Valley and its ooxy soil too well. The digging of the channel would be but the beginning. A thousand dredges could not keep It clear." The Canadian farmer works from 12 to 16 hours a day in the busy season. EITHER UP OR DOWN No matter what the market price of OCEAN SHORE BONDS may bo, whether they are selling for $125 or $15, for every one that yon hold, you receive 5 per cent on the par valne, $100, for 30 years. Had you thonKht of that? The market price of bonds, unlike almost any other investment, has absolutely nothing to do with the earning power of your money, while invested in them. There is only one way that you can possibly lose money " in a bond investment and that is if the assets of the company go all to smash. Ton understand, of course, that all the assets of the OCEAN SHORE RAILWAY COMPANY were mortgaged, when this issue of bonds was made. This mortgage was placed in the possession of the Mercantile Trust Company of San Francisco. TheTe it is held as security for the payment of the interest on the bonds. Thus, for every bond you buy yon are assured that there is amplo se curity. There is no way the assets of this company can crumble unless the entire Pacific Coast country goes to the dogs. The person who in vests in OCEAN SHORE BONDS, therefore, is secured by the permanency of the Coast country. Summarize, if you wish, the assets of this company. It already owns real estate in San Francisco, its northern terminal, and Santa Cruz, its southern terminal, valued at over $2,000,000. With the passing of time this real estate becomes more valuable. There are franchises in every city through which the line runs, immensely valuable in themselves. There are private rights of way that have been secured at great expense. There is a stretch of rai.'road 34 miles long already operating and earning money. There are en gines, cars, equipment of every kind. To make assurance doubly certain, the company is incorporated for $5,000,000, fully paid up. and the wealth iest men of San Francisco and California are owners of this stock. They cannot receive a dollar in dividends until the bond interest is paid. Further than that, they are liable to the full amount of their stock for the payment of this interest, in the event the assets are In sufficient to take care of the' company's obligations. What more can any investor want for security? But, perhaps the most interesting part of this investment is the fact that the man or woman of small means has the first chance in a life time to buy railroad bonds be--low par on easy terms with a guaranteed income. Pay $96 each for them, buy as many aa you can afford, pay $10 a month on each bond, and you have an income for 30 years as certain as any investment can be called certain.
