NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS.
Sealed proposals will be received by the
Town Clerk of the Town of Sunnyeide,
Wash., up to 8 o'clock P. M., August 13,
1906, at which time aald proposals will be
opened and considered by the Council, for
furnishing the materials and constructing a
system of water works and electric light
ing system for the town of Sunnyside, Wash.
The work will consist of about 2900 feet
of 8-Inch wooden stave water main, 3000
feet of 6-inch water main. 2700 feet of 4
lnch water main, 16 hydrants, valves, one
300.000-gallon reservoir, one 200-gallon pump,
one 00 B. H. P. gasoline engine, one 25
K. W. alternating dynamo, poles, trans
formers, etc., for lighting the town. The
Council reserves the right to rejeot any and
all bids.
INSTRUCTIONS TO BIDDERS.
L No bid, will be received for any part
of the work herein described from parties
who cannot show a reasonable acquaintance
with and preparation for the proper per
formance of the class of work for which
the bid la submitted. Evidence of such
competency must be furnished if desired.
2. Proposals must be made on the blank
form to be obtained at the office of the
Engineer. O. L. Waller, at Pullman, Wash.,
or of W. H. Turner, town clerk of Sunny
aide, Wash.
3. Bids will be received as follows:
First On pump pit and foundation for
pump
Second On all machinery, including' en
gine, pump, suction and discharge pipes to
outside of pump pit wall. Bidders) must
state the kind of machinery to be supplied
and furnish specifications for the same.
Third On the pipe system complete with
hydrants and valves, and to include the fol
lowing items; (a) Price per foot for 8-inch
mains, for 6-lnch mains, for 4-inch maiae;
(b) price per hydrant set.
These items are introduced to cover any
variations in length over or under the
amounts herein specified, and contractors
hereby agree to such extension or reduc
tion at the prices named.
Fourth On the reservoir complete. Includ
ing following- items (a) excavation, (b) con
crete lining, (c) connection to 8-lnch main
(d) overflow, (e) roof, etc.
ELECTRIC LIGHTING SYSTEM.
First On one twenty-five (25) K. W .
dynamo.
Second Switchboard and equipment, con
nect' ons, etc.. and wiring complete to out
side of building.
Third Outside work, including poles,
transformers and wiring complete and ready
for use.
Bidders may make, in addition to the
above, a bid for the entire work complete.
Copy of plans or specifications will be fur
nished by the town clerk for $1 each.
Bidders will be required to accept in pay
ment for at least one-third of the contract
price warrants drawn on a special fund,
into which shall be paid 25 per cent for the
first two years and 40 per cent thereafter
of the gross receipts derived from raid sys
tem, which warrants will draw 6 per cent
Interest until paid ; if the Council so re
quires, or the bidder may offer to take
all warrants in payment. Bidders are also
requested to name the cash price for said
work and material or both.
Each proposal must be accompanied by a
certified check to the amount of 5 per cent
of the amount bid to the effect that if the
proposal is accepted with 60 days from the
opening of bids, the bidder will, within 20
days after being notified of such aceptance.

and In case of the failure of the bidder to

certified check shall become the property of
the town of Sunnyside.
Contractor will be required to furnish

to the contract price.
