12 THE ZJIORXTN'G OREGOXIAX, WEDXESDAT, JUNE 21, 1905. TEXANS VISIT THE FAIR Take Rides About Town in Automo biles to Sec Sights. The Texas bankers "were left to them selves yesterday. After a whole Jayv and evening:' spent in former gU'infj and taking of compliments': So they went out to the Fair as private citi zens, rode around the city in automo biles and saw Just about everything: that can be taken in in that manner) It was not because the hospitality of the city was suddenly stopped, but be cause it was thought better to show hospitality that way. In fact the num ber of prH'ate automobiles that were placed at the disposal of the Texana must not only have been gratifying to them, but spoke well for the people of Portland. This important party of 10D visitors, which will be "here until late this evening-, will go back and tell some very pleasant things about this city and this portion of the country. Many called yesterday hot in the sun. but they laughed at that. To them it was a breezy day such as Texas would like to have in Summer. They will go back and tell about the weather to the burnt-up Southerners, and the Fair will reap a rich harvest of visitors from the advertising thus given. CLASSIFIED AD. BATES. "jjoomi."
