Coburn's puperb pitching way mainly responsible for the defeat of Columbia by Harvard today on Soldiers' Fold by a score of 5 to 1. During the six Innings that he pitched Coburn allowed but one hit. Dur ing the game be struck out 10 men, six of them in succession. Columbia played a snappy fielding game and Harvard batted hard, Matthews making a hit every time he came to the bat. Salem Boys Win. The Salem Ramblers defeated the Co lumbia Juniors In the ball game at the Fair yesterday by 13 to 5. From the fourth inning on the outcome of the game was certain. Columbia being completely out- batted. Holman, pitching for the visitors, was too clever for the local team and though hit pretty well at first, ended by allowing only a few hits. The Salem team which consisted mostly of High school boys-, played well together, and did ex cellent field work, in spite of the rough condition of the ground. Score: R. SULLIVAN WILL FIGHT BR ITT Washington Man Agrees on Match In San Francisco. BALTIMORE. June 14. On behalf of Kid Sullivan, of Washington, his man ager. Al Herford. of this city, has ac cepted the offer of the Hayes Valley Ath letic Club, of San Francisco, of a parse of J15.O00 for a twenty-round fight with Jimmy Bxitt la that city July 16. The question of weight seems to be the only Important one yet to be agreed upon. Sullivan and Herford will leave for the Coast next week. From Seattle In an Automobile. SEATTLE. Wash., June 14. (Spe cial.) A. S. Kerry, hoad of the Kerry Mill Company, and a prominent local capitalist, and L. H. Gray, president of the Gray Steamship Company, ope rating a fleet of lumber carriers, left In an automobile late this afternoon for Portland. In the party were also Mrs. Gray and Miss Kerry.
