THE MORNING- OREGONIAN, MONDAY, NOVEMBER 10, 1902. 11 NEW CROP ORANGES HERE WAVELS FROM XORTHERX CALIFOR XIA PUT OX THE 3IARKET. Grapes Coming In in Poor Condition Poultry Trade in a. Bad Way Salt Is Lovrcr. m produce lines the -week can only be termed fairly active. Receipts of fruits and vegetables have not been large, but they were enough to supply the demand. Prices have continued abo-Jt steady. Among the arrivals Saturday were the first new-crop navel oranges, which were put on sale at ?5 50. They came from Northern California. Receipts wljl not be "heavy for some time yet. California grapes are still coming in by express, but they are not in the best 'condition, nor were the Oregon grapes received from Forest Grove Saturday. Appls arc In heavy supply and are not mov ing" promptly. Hothouse lettuce is on the mar ket at $1 75S2 per box. Celery and cauli flower from" Southern California will be in in a day or two. It has been a poor week in the poultry mar ket, and the week to come does not promise much better. There is too inuch game in the market for poultry to sell fast enough to keep down the supply. Eggs are more plentiful, but there are not enough fresh" ranch eggs to fill the demand. Creamery butter shows some little Increase in the demand, but with the in quiry still strong, all brands are taken, on ar rival. The feature of the grocery trade was a de cline of ?2 a ton in coarse salt Saturday. MCits and lard continue scarce and high. Split peas are higher. "Walnuts are stiff and ad vancing.
