During lilleen years of practice, In Eune. the Atlantic States and California, 1 hare rescued from the jaws of death many thousands, who, in the last stages of he above mentioned disease, bad been given np to die by their physicians, which warrant me in promising to the adlicted who may place them selves under my care, a Jierfect and speedy cure. Pri vate disease are the greatest enemies to health, as they are the flrxt cause of t'onsnmption, Srrofula, and many other diseases, and should be a terror to the hu man family. A permanent enre is scarcely evrr effect ed. a majority of the rase falling into the hands of in competent persons, who nut only fail to cure the dis ease, but ruin the constitution, tilling tbe system with mercury, which, with the disease, hastens tbe sufferer into a rapid consumption. But should the disease and the treatment not cause death speedily, and the victim marries, the disease is entailed upon the children, who are born with feeble constitutions, and the current of life corrupted by a virus which betrsys itself in scrofula, tetter, ulcers, corruptions, and other affection of the skin, exes, throat and lungs, entailing upon them a brief existence of suffering and consigning them to an early grave. SKl.F-AUL'SE is amtber formidable enemy to health, for nothing el-e in the dread catalogue ,) hu man diseases causes so destructive a drain nwn tbe system, drawing its thousand f victims through a few years of suti'ering down to an untimely grave. It destroys Ihe nervous system, rapidly wasu-a away the enemies of life, causes mental derauirement. prevents the proper development of the system, disqusliric for marriage, society, business and all earthly happiness, and leaves the sufferer recked in body and mind, pre disposed to consumption and a train of evils more to be dreaded than death Itself. With the fr.Uest confi dence 1 assure the unfortunate victims of Keif alms that a permanent and speedy cure ran be effected, and with the abandonment of ruinous practices, niy patient raq be resOred to robust, vigorous health. Below we publish tbe certificates of two of tbe sufferers from the pangs of disease, who having recovered their former health, and impelled by grati tude, make known their cases and remedial agent, and their statements are authenticated by a Notary Public. The demand of Society imperiously command their publicity, and we commend their perusal to the atten tion of all afflicted : CERTIFICATE. The undersigned, desirous of acquainting those who may be nnfortnnate enongh to le similarly afflicted, where a permanent relief of their suffering may lie obtained, feels it his duty to thus publicly express his most sincere gratitude to Dr. L. J. Czapkay.forthe permanent recovery of his health. Borne down by the distressing symptoms incident to the victims practice of uncontrollable passion in youth ; depressed in body and mind ; unable tu perform even the most trifling duty imposed npon the daily avocations of life, 1 sought fie sdvice of many physicians, who at first regarded my disease as of trilling importance but slat ; alter a lew weeks, and jn several instances months, ol their treat ment, I found to my unutterable horror, that instead of relief, the symptoms became more alarming in their torture ; and leing. told by one that my disease, being principally confined to tbe brain, medicine would be of little consequence. I despaired of ever regaining my health, strength and energy ; and, as a last resort, and with but a faint hope, called upon Dr. Czapkay, who, after examining my case, prescribed some medicine wnich almost iustatitly relieved me of the dull pain and dizziness in my head. Encouraged by this result, I resolved to place myself immediately under his care, and by a strict otwdience to hi directions and advice, ray head became clear, my ideas collected, the constant pain in my back and groins, the weaknessof my limbs, the nervou reaction of my whole bodv on the slight est alarm or excitement; the misanthropy and evil forebodings; the self distrust and want of confidence in others; tbe incapacity to study, and want of resolu tion; the frightful, exciting, and at times pleasurable dreams at night, followed by involuntary discharges, have all disapsared; and in fact, in two months after having consulted tbe Doctor, I felt as if inspired by a new life that life which, but a short time ago, I con templated to end with my own hand. With a view to guard the unfortunate from falling into the snare of incompetent quacks. I deem it my duty to offer this testimony to the merit aud skill of Dr. Czapkay, and recommend him to all who may stand in need of medical advice, being assured by my own experience, that once under his care, a radical and permanent core will be effected. Prompted by an honest desire of my heart. I wish to lay before tbe public a case which deserves a high com mendation, not only as an actot scientific skill, but that of humanity, also. About two years ago, I sud denly and from causes unknown to me, was seized with a fit of EPii-Ersr, which, owing to my inability to meet the expenses consequent upon a thorough medical treat ment, and the discouragement which I met with on attempting it, soon became snch (as I was then led to believe.) a to defy the skill of any physician.
