Troutdale landmark restaurant burns Corbett Fire District 14 re- sponded to a fire Jan. 17 at Shirley’s Tippy Canoe Restau- rant, 28242 E. Historic Colum- bia River Highway in Trout- dale. The call came in at 5:03 a.m. by a passerby. Multnomah County Sheriffs Deputies were first on scene and reported heavy fire from the second floor windows of the unoccu- pied building. Corbett Fire dispatched three engines, two 3,000-gal- lon water tenders and a chief officer; Gresham Fire and Res- cue assisted with an engine, a 104-foot ladder truck and a battalion chief and Clackamas County Fire District 1 assisted with a 3,000-gallon water ten- der. There were no firefighter injuries. A nearby 200 gallon per min- ute fire hydrant was supple- mented by a water shuttle with the 3,000-gallon water tenders. Gresham’s Truck 71 was able to apply water from its aerial lad- der making fire control much quicker. Unfortunately, with such an advanced fire on arrival, the structure and its contents are a total loss. A loss estimate is not yet available. Gresham Fire and Rescue investigators are leading the investigation. The fire’s cause has not been determined at this time. group meet fi tness Morgan works “Other participants are really encouraging and it helps you to keep your commitment and motivation to work out.” — Morgan Oliveira-Rincon, MS CRC IN BRIEF: MO SIER RESIDENT | MA R R I ED W I T H 3 CH I LDR EN | WOU GR AD UAT E F UL L TIM E REH ABIL I TAT I O N CO U N SELOR C E R T IFIED FITNE SS I N ST R U C TO R - YO GA FI T N ES S , C AR D IO S TE P & BAR R E Morgan fi nds working out is just as important for her mental well being as it is for physical health.
