As the p r o j e c t s p o n s o r, East Fork Irrigation D i s t r i c t p ro p o s e s to pipe 56 miles of District-owned canals and laterals to conserve water, reduce energy use, improve operational efficiencies, increase public safety, and enhance fish and wildlife habitat in the Hood River Water- shed. The proposed project is in cooper- ation with Bonneville Power Administra- tion with assistance from Farmers Con- servation Alliance. The proposed im- provements may be partially funded through the Water- shed Protection and Flood Prevention Act of 1954 (PL 83-566). The proposed proj- ect is located in northeastern Hood River County.
