FFA chapter
raises funds
National FFA week is Feb.
15-22 this year and the Hood
River Valley FFA Chapter
has several activities
planned at the local level.
The first activity in the com-
munity is the “Pass The Pig”
fundraiser, which will be
held on Tuesday, Feb. 17 be-
ginning at 9 a.m.
If you’re not familiar with
Pass the Pig, let us set the
por-scene.It works like this:
A local business wishes to
send a pig to you, and FFA
members will show up with a
baby pig. In order to get rid
of the pig, the FFA asks for a
$20 donation and the name of
the business that you would
like to send the pig to next.
That business will then send
the pig on to another busi-
ness, and so on.
If you know you would
like the pig or would like to
send the baby pig to a busi-
ness you can contact Don
Schmidt or Nita Bozarth at
Hood River Valley High
