We can help you ® PET OF THE WEEK This week volunteers at Adopt A Dog have selected Poco as the program’s adopt- able pet of the week: This little Chihuahua is Poco. And Poco is about a year old and not even 5 pounds — and half of that is in those huge ears! He must hear everything going on! Poco sure has a good time chasing and playing, but he thinks he’s a big dog and likes to take charge in play time with little dogs, until he gets to know them. Then he’s thrilled to have more pals joining the game. He takes corrections well, so learning comes pretty eas- ily. Treats help, of course! He has a gentle mouth and will sit politely and wait for his turn, but he’s the first to snatch up a dropped crumb! As you can tell by his picture, he’s not at all op- posed to a good cuddle, ei- ther! In fact, I’m pretty sure he’ll write it into his con- tract! Poco is a happy leash walker and likes to lead the way, but doesn’t like long walks. I suppose because that just takes away from his play time! He’s smart, and adorable, and my goodness, he’s small! This cuddle-bumpkin is cur rent on shots, mi- crochipped and will be neutered next week. The adoption fee for Poco is $175. The fee to adopt is charged to Photo by Tamara Emler Ball ALIZE LAMBERT enjoys a visit to the Space needle in Seattle.
