Iloth young ladies returned to town Monday to resume their school work. BARRETT Mr. Tomklns, principal of the Bar rett school, has a record for his room of which he may well be proud. He has not had a tardy mark for the erf- tire year and as a reward the pupils will enjoy an Icecream treat Tues day afternoon. Mrs. J. J. Gibbons returned Thurs day from a visit with relatives in Portland. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kvans and Mr. and Mrs. Albert Dennett spent Tues day Ashing up at the Punch Bowl. The social given by the Queen Ksther circle last Friday evening at the church was very well attended and the girls should be. given great credit for the capable way in which they handled the event. They clear ed $8.70 for which they thank the gen erous crowd who attended. The W. C. D. M. meet with Mrs. Cauller Wednesday. Mrs. Clymer is the leader. All are Invited. Mr. Paddock has begun building a house and barn on his ranch. The barn Is nearlng completion and the carpenters will start on the house at once. Mr. and Mrs. G. G. Forbes of White Salmon spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. W. K. Cauller. UNDERWOOD Mr. and Mrs. H. S. Adams's resi dence was the scene Thursday even ing of a large reception given by them for Mr. and Mrs. Myron S. Smith. The rooms were beautfully decorated with evergreen, dogwood blossoms and May baskets of wild sunflowers. A delightful musical program wag a feature of the evening and refresh ments were served.
