Wright nnd P. of us Blair ran down a large cougar with their bounds, a half mile from Camas, u few days ago, and Mr. Wright shot the big cnt In the darkness. Instantly killing the marauder, while it was In the act of carrying off a goat from a rancher's place. It was !i o'clock at night, and was so dark that a ri tie could not be used. Only one shot was required to bag the animal, as It wa not more than 2.1 feet from Wright when he fired. The killing of tlil cougar again serves to remind that the wilds of nature are not far removed. Last Summer a large bear was killed just outside of the limits of Camas, and early this year a deer wa killed with in I'imiO yards of the baseball park.
