FRUIT PROSPECTS GOOD
The fruit crop report of the Cana
dian department of agriculture, Just
Issued, shows that, on the whole,
apples nre doing remarkably well.
Little bud and twig killing have
been reported and the prospects are
favorable for a good crop.
The report Is confined almost ex
clusively to conditions under which
the trees and plantations have
come through the winter, deter
mined partly by the summer and
autuuin conditions of lull, and part
ly bv the winter and spring weather
of the present year.
Fruit prospects all over Great Brit
ain and Ireland are, on the whole,
favorable. The winter was not se
vere. Spring opened up warm and
growth was good. .No unusual In
festations of Insect pests or fungous
discuses are reported, and It can lie
said that there are no discouraging
features.
