Roomer, general superintendent of the Lake Erie & Western, one of the New York Central Lines, running from Sandus ky, Ohio, to Peoria, Illinois), and and having various Important con nections. Mr. Roomer Is located at Indianapolis and was here with his wile and daughter In his private car. They took a drive over the valley and visited the Coffins of whom they are friends. Owing to the heavy damage done the block on Cascade avenue from Second to First street, by the recent rains, a proposition Is now being considered by the city council to pave It. Mr. and Mrs. M. II. O'Neill, Hood River residents some ten or twelve years ago, arrived here Friday for a stay in the valley and are stopping at Mrs. Howe's. They have recently been on a tour of Kurope and are re newlng old acquaintanceships. Mr. and Mrs. P. E. Mlchell, who have been residing nt Seaview, for the summer, arrived here Thurs day for a few days' visit at their home on the Heights. Mr. Mlchell reports the const country as pro gressing, and that Astoria in partic ular Is making a big growth. Hood River, however, he states Is making marked progrese la Improvements. Grace Church.
