home of her parents Wednesday,

Idlewlld cemetery. As the caue of
death was scarlet fever no funeral

this district, was here Monday visit
ing friends.
Mrs. Marion MacLae was an inter
ested spectator at the annual meet

The Mount Hood hotel is receiving
a new coat of paint In order to be In
keeping with the Kaster season. It
will don a coat of light brown trim
med with white.
L. Ij. Lelano returned from an ex
tended visit at his former home, New
Bedford, Mass., Thursday. The
Delano boys have gone to their coun
try place at Odell for the summer.
Mrs. L. H. Shepard, who suffered a
slight attack of appendicitis while in
California recently, but recovered,
was again taken ill with this trouble
last week and was taken to Port
land by her sister for treatment.

Saturdays. County Fruit inspector

his headquarters at the court house.
C. A. McCarger came up from
Portland Monday evening and spent
part of Tuesday out on his ranch at
Mokier, returning to Portland in the
evening. Mr. McCarger, with his
family, spent the winter in California
They will come to Mosler lu a few
weeks for the summer.
Mr. and Mrs. ( has. Hanklus, of
Stevenson, had the misfortune to
liise their buby Tuesday night. It
was taken sick Monday and only
lived about l!l hours. The child was
brought to Hood Liver, on the
steamer Tahoma, for burial, where
the parents have another child
buried.
Lev. .1. B. Parsons left last week
for Kverett, Wash., to conduct a
scries of revival services which had
been arranged for by Lev. ItnlieSum
erlin. Mr. Sumerlin, who Is slightly
out of health, remained at Hood
Liver and will conduct the services
at the I'. 15. church until Mr. Par
sons' return.
The demand for cement blocks has
made It necessary for Bradley Bros.,
who are manufacturing them here,
to employ seven hands, and It Is ex
pected that a much larger plant will
soon be necessary. The new build
ing of the laundry company Is con
structed of t he blocks manufactured
by the Bradley Bros , and they have
orders for liiiinv others.
