"Yours truly, Many Visitors at Long Beach Long lieach, Wash., June 6 The fine weather prevailing on the North Iteach is bringing hosts of visitors to the ocean shore, Intent on secur ing rest and a good coat of tan. The outlook Is particularly bright for a remarkably busy season this summer, the number of visitors at this time being far greater than ever before at this time of the year. The march of progress is evident throughout the entire length of the beach, aud development btlug as sured, prosperity Is but a matter of course. Work on the automobile boulevard is progressing very rapid ly, beach houses by the score are be erected, aDd new rooming houses and old are belntt rapidly put Into shape to take care of the hoards of summer transients which will soon le down upon us. The North lieach Tush Club with Its combined effort, shouldering the wheel of progress, has awakened an era of activity, which will undoubt edly secure the proper recognition ol the unsurpassed advantages or the North lieach for enjoyable outings, and at the same time all the com forts of home, Negotiations are now pending with Portland capitalists for the in stallation of a water system to sup ply the beach and surrounding countryside with fine mountain water. With the culmination of this project, one of the obstacles to an otherwise Incomparable locullty Is oblivlated. Picnic at Wamic Miss Pearl Iseuberg, daughter ol M. P. I sen berg, closed her school Friday at Wamlc. giving her pupils a picnic in the grove below town. The day was an Ideal one for the oc casion. The children meeting at the grouuds nt about half past twelve o'clock were served with a lunch and latr treated to Ice cream and lemon ade. The afternoou's amusements contested of games, foot races, etc. J. W. Fallgatter, the artist, was present and took photos of the chil dren. Those of the pupils who partici pated In the happy event were Katie Spath, l'rankle Mott, Harriet Palm ateer, Frank (iesh, Harry Spath, Hex New. Orbv Miiirlll. At about half pnst three o'clock the pupils bade their teacher good-bye, regretting to part with her. Miss Iseuherg returned to Hood Kiver last week, where she will spend the summer with her parents. Employes Indemnity Law An act to be voted on by the peo ple of the state that will be placed on the ballot at the November election provides for a commission to report to the legislature upon the matter of Indemnity to employes for Injuries sustained In course of their employ ment.
