The woman suffrage forces of Washington are Jubilant In having enlisted organized labor in support of their cause. The State Federation adopted strong resolutions com mending votes for women. Those In charge of the campaign declare they are gaining strength every day. Mrs. Carrie Chapman Catt has en riched the exchequer with a f.VM con tribution and extensive otllces are being fitted up In Seattle ns head quarters. Mr. Wheeler Is state agent for the North American Insurance Company and won their speclul premium for writ ing the largest amount of new busi ness In 1000. A letter received from H. W. Ham lin, who Is taking the short course at I'ulman, speaks very highly of the Institution. The short course has over 100 enrolled and they come from every part of the world, Canada and England furnishing quite a large number. We suspect that after Mr. Hamlin's return we will have to wake up and make a good many chnnges In our way of doing business If we are to keep up with the latest. The eighth grade pupils of the Un derwood school debated the ques tion, "Resolved that the city offers more advantages to children up to 21 years than the country." Gladys Hamilton, Herman Iart and Wiley Veaeh took the negative and Ralph Westfall. Kdlth Hamilton and Don ald Lowden the affirmative. The decision was given lu favor of the negative, as they produced the greater numler of arguments In fa vor of country life.
