    Variegata plants hosts
ribbon cutting ceremony
ASTORIA – Variegata Exotic Plants,
a new destination for classic and unique
houseplants, will celebrate its grand open-
ing with a ribbon cutting ceremony on
Thursday at 1 p.m.
The shop will host a giveaway of a
philodendron silver sword plant during the
ceremony at 2 p.m. The winner must be
present at the time of the giveaway. The
shop will also off er sales and giveaways
throughout the weekend.
Light refreshments will be served fol-
lowing the ribbon cutting ceremony. For

RAYMOND, Wash. — Tray
Dahl and the Jugtime Ragband
will perform as part of the Sunday
Afternoon Live event at the Ray-
mond Theatre on Sunday at 3 p.m.
Comprised of Tray Dahl on
banjo and lead vocals, Stephanie
Hooks on backup vocals, Steve
Saunders on snare, brushes and
backup vocals, Mick Kinney on
piano and Carey Rayburn on trum-
pet, the band fuses jazz, blues,
swing and gospel for a tribute to
1920s and 1930s music of New
Orleans.
Sponsors for this event include
Beryl Adams, Les and Vivian
Edersheim, Bank of the Pacifi c,
and in memory of Don and Janet
Furfi ord.
Admission for the show is $20
in advance or $25 on the day of the
show. All Sunday Afternoon Live
volunteers are fully vaccinated and
will be masked during the perfor-
mance. Masks and COVID vacci-
nations are strongly encouraged for
