have a book signing and live music party with
DeLores Richards’ new book “Astoria Mys-
teries” and her song book “Music from My
Heart” Saturday at 1 p.m.

An offi cial ceremony will take place at
the Turnaround at 1 p.m. and will include
speeches from Mayor Jay Barber and for-
mer mayors and community representatives.
Offi cials will bury a time capsule and break
a bottle of sea water to commemorate the
milestone.
The public is invited to gather on the beach
facing the Turnaround, which will serve as a
stage for the ceremony. Those wishing to sit
are advised to bring chairs or beach blankets.

SEASIDE — A parade and ceremony will
commemorate the centennial of the Seaside
Promenade on Saturday.
The 1.5-mile Prom has become one of the
most iconic coastal landmarks in the Pacifi c
Northwest.
The Prom Centennial Parade will begin at
10 a.m. at 989 Broadway. The parade route
will follow the historic location of Seaside’s
train station and continue west down Broad-
way to the Turnaround.
