Bono releases latest book, hosts event LONG BEACH — Author Jan Bono will host a book sale and signing event in honor of the release of her latest book from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at 18215 Sandridge Road. Bono’s latest book, “Tsunami Warn- ing,” is her 15th book and the fi nal book of her Sylvia Avery mystery series. The series includes cozy mys- teries, a specifi c sub-division of mys- tery novels that don’t contain graphic vio- lence, obscene lan- guage and explicit sex scenes. “What they do have is an amateur sleuth working with the local police department in a small town, a quirky cast of characters and lots of humor,” Bono said in a press release. All of the series’ books are set on the Long Beach Peninsula. Masks and social distancing will be required. For more information, call 360-642-4932. High school play goes virtual Aria Larsen, left, and Daniel Lempke rehearse ‘Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon.’ ASTORIA — Astoria High School’s the- ater program will host a virtual show, “The Brothers Grimm Spectaculathon,” on Fri- day and Saturday. The show is a “wild free-form comedy,” which tells “the myriad of stories recorded by the Brothers Grimm.” The student actors will attempt to combine 209 stories in one show, including classics and obscure stories. Viewers can watch the show multiple times, any time during either day. Tick- ets cost $5 per device and are available at tinyurl.com/d3an27rj Featured students include Azaria Damghani, Grayson Donohue, Austin Walls, Eli Harold, Sadie Wilkinson, Daniel Lempke, Everett Towsey-French, Brooke Jackson, Kestly Larsen, Molly Lindstrom, Aria Larsen, Maia Fay, Shailynn Duff y, Eli- jah Phillips and D.
