toric Lodge will host
Portland folk musician
Arran Fagan for a lives-
treamed concert from 8
to 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

ate for all ages and is free to watch.
The Harbor is looking for sponsors for
its annual Soup Bowl, which is scheduled
for May 1.
The soup bowl is an annual fundraiser
for The Harbor, which supports local survi-
vors of domestic and sexual violence. Spon-
sorships will raise money for the organiza-
tion, as well as participating restaurants.
Event tickets will contain a pack of
passes that can be exchanged for a free
bowl of soup from participating restaurants
with a purchase of $20.

Vendors sought for
new Astoria market
ASTORIA — Vendors are sought for
the Hanthorn Cannery Market at Pier
39, a new market that will operate from
10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Sundays starting
May 1.
Vendors who make hand-crafted prod-
ucts are welcome to apply. Booths will
cost $15 or $25 per event, or $55 or $80
per month, depending on the booth’s size.
The market will be ran by the Han-
thorn Cannery Foundation.

4-H offers two
activities for youth
Registration is open for two 4-H
youth programs.
A babysitting series, designed to train
youth how to babysit, will be held via
Zoom from 4 to 5:30 p.m. on May 5, 12,
19 and 26. The series is open to ages 10
to 19. To register, visit bit.ly/2PEH1Ps.
Youth can also participate in the 4-H
Commit to Be Fit 30 Hour Challenge,
which is happening throughout April.
During the event, youth are encouraged
to exercise and track their progress. Cash
prizes will be awarded. To participate, go
to beav.es/JjP and download the event’s
tracking sheet to log fitness hours. Forms
can be turned in online at the website or at
2001 Marine Drive, Room 210 in Astoria.
Participants who exercise at least 30
hours will be entered to win $100.
Genealogy society
hosts virtual lecture
Clatsop County Genealogical Society
will host genealogist Patricia Oberndorf for
a virtual lecture at 1 p.m. Friday on Zoom
(Meeting ID: 836 4428 8079, password:
899186).
During the lecture, Oberndorf will pres-
ent “Conquering the Challenges in German
Research.”
Oberndorf has been an active geneal-
ogist for 30 years, six of which she has
worked professionally. She volunteers at the
Columbia County Historical Museum.
Historian to lecture
on Lewis and Clark
Expedition
ASTORIA — Lewis and Clark National
Historical Park’s monthly “In Their Foot-
steps” lecture will be held virtually at
1 p.m. Sunday at youtube.com/user/
Lewisandclarknhp.
Debbie Kaspar will present “Unsung
Heroes of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.”
Kaspar will discuss lesser known members
of the Lewis and Clark Expedition and their
contributions to the journey.
Kaspar has taught history courses at
Clatsop Community College for 41 years,
including a class on the expedition. She has
also worked at Lewis and Clark National
Historical Park and History America Tours.
Seaside students
debut virtual musical
The Addams Family School Edition,”
at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday, April 23
and April 24 at seasidehs.booktix.com/.
Shows will only be available at the
scheduled times. Tickets cost $10 for
individual viewers or $20 for households.
The show tells the story of a grown-up
Wednesday Addams, who has fallen in
love with a normal man, Lucas Beineke.
Things get complicated when the Beineke
family comes to dinner to meet the Add-
ams family.
High school and middle school stu-
dents are featured actors in the show. The
cast includes Kaiya Taylor, Olivia May-
hugh, Sophia Reynolds, Gracie Klemp,
Morticia Addams, Lucas Ethridge, Skylar
Archibald, Eva Bailey, Kyleigh Griffin,
Ella Jesberger, Harmony Brady, Hayley
Archibald, Leonard Hoge, Katelyn Cox,
Ayuanna Bolin, Aria Taylor and Braedyn
Griffin.
Seaside High School will debut a virtual
musical Friday.
The musical is directed by Ann Susee
and is under the musical direction of
Lindsey Wildman.
