Student can earn their Certified Clinical Med- ical Assistant (CCMA) and Cer- tified Electronic Health Records Specialist certifications (CEHRS). This vocation can be completed in approximately one year. Dental Assistant: Prepares stu- dents to assist a dentist in every aspect of dentistry. Students can earn multiple certifications through the Dental Assisting National Board (DANB), in- cluding Infection Control and Radiation Health & Safety plus the Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA). This vocation can be completed in ten to twelve months. Seamanship: The program offers training that leads to certification by the U.S. Coast Guard as an Able Bodied seaman or Qualified Member of the Engine Depart- ment. This program requires a minimum of eighteen months to complete. A referral from the IBU office required. Painting: Students learn prepa- rations of various surfaces to be painted, various types of paints, stains and lacquers and other wall coverings. Ladders, scaffolding and suspended swing stages are used in the training. This vocation can be completed in nine months.
