KMUN awards community members ASTORIA – Over 120 members of Coast Community Radio celebrated KMUN during the annual breakfast meeting in the beginning of November. Volunteers received yearly awards and board members were elected. KMUN’s annual awards were given for outstanding volunteers from the station. Donna Quinn was awarded “The Direc- tor’s Award.” Quinn hosts “Talk of Our Towns” weekly at 9:30 a.m. Wednesdays. For 15 years, Donna has created a wonder- ful interview style program with the movers and shakers of the region. After receiving the award and taking a deep breath, Quinn said “I am humbled and honored by this award! How incredibly for- tunate we are that Coast Community Radio exists in this singular place ...” Reid Johnson was honored as “Volun- teer of the Year.” Ellen Frye was presented “Programmer of the Year” for her show “World of Bach” every Sunday morning at 7 a.m. Kegan Rascoe was awarded “Rookie of the Year” for his program “Life Down Stream.” Jack Harris was re-elected as the board president. Also re-elected were Tom Duncan, Jen- nifer Crockett, John Stevenson and David Campiche.
