Liberty Theatre is proud
to announce the pre-
miere of Hollywood’s
biggest night in Asto-
ria on Sunday, Feb. 24.
Our superstar guests
will walk the red car-
pet past adoring fans
and paparazzi into our
glamorous historic the-
ater. The evening will
be hosted by Asto-
ria’s own Drag Queen
Daylight.
There are two levels
of experience:
• 3:30 p.m. $50 VIP
ticket: Enjoy a private
reception on the Mez-
zanine while watch-
ing the OSCAR® Red
Carpet Live pre-show
on the big screen. Hors
d’oeuvres will come
from Fulio’s Restaurant
and a complimentary
drink ticket redeem-
able for wine or beer
from Naked Winery
Seaside or Fort George
Brewery. A cash bar
will be available for
additional beverages.
Reserved seating is in
our beautiful balcony.
This level also includes
ABC’s live coverage of
the Academy Awards,
which begin at 5 p.m.

live coverage of the
Academy Awards with

Writer’s Guild introduces writing labs and lounges
ASTORIA — The Writ-
er’s Guild is announcing a
new format for its monthly
events.
The Guild still meets
at WineKraft on the third
Tuesday of the month but
will rotate among open
mics, their traditional for-
mat; writing labs, a chance
to bring works in progress
for feedback; and Open
Writing Lounge, a quiet
space to work on your own
projects with support from
other writers.
In addition, the Guild’s
spring workshops are
now open for registration.
These include:
• Saturday, April 6:
Romance Writing Work-
shop with Julie Cameron:
Take a look at the romance
industry, and how it
weaves through all genres,
before diving under the
covers for some practice.

on creating art out of truth.
