Picture yourself a success
ASTORIA — The next Ales
& Ideas talk, presented
by Clatsop Community
College, focuses on disaster
preparedness. The event
takes place Thursday, Jan.
3, at the Fort George Lovell
Showroom.
College President Chris
Breitmeyer will moderate
a discussion with Astoria’s
new mayor, Bruce Jones,
and OSU Extension coastal
hazards specialist Pat
Corcoran.
Jones led the Coast
Guard’s aviation rescue op-
erations over New Orleans
during Hurricane Katrina.
He will share lessons from
that disaster, including
thoughts about how Astoria
should learn from other
communities to prepare
for a Cascadia Subduction
Zone earthquake.

Dobrowolski will present

Simple Picture Will Change
Everything” at the Hoffman
