Boys & Girls Club of the Long Beach Peninsula Boys & Girls Club of the Long Beach Peninsula P.O. Box 1172, Long Beach, WA 404 School Rd., Ilwaco, WA Mission Statement: To inspire and enable all youth ages six through high school graduation to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens through the development of a positive self-image and self- reliance. PROGRAM OVERVIEW For ten years, the Boys & Girls Club of the Long Beach Peninsula has provided a safe, reliable, positive, and fun place for kids to go after school. Club programs promote and enhance the development of youth by instilling a sense of competence, usefulness, belonging and influence. We focus on promoting social and emotional development of Club members in a safe, fun atmosphere. We offer daily homework help and special clubs that encourage youth try and learn new skills.We run evidence-based programs like Positive Action, Girls' Circle, and Passport to Manhood, as well as locally-developed programs that focus on everything from physical fitness, arts & crafts, life skills, and STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math). Thanks to our partnership with Ocean Beach School District (OBSD), each day all members receive both a meal and a snack. OBSD also provides transportation for members both to and from Club each day. EVENTS: Our annual auction will be held on Saturday, May 18th, at the Chinook Event Center. We are also partnering with Peninsula Youth Sports to offer youth basketball tournaments on January 19th – 20th and February 23rd – 24th. You can find out more information on our website. DONATIONS: Boys & Girls Club of the Long Beach Peninsula is 100% self- funded by donations, grants, and fundraising events. One-year memberships are only $25 per child. In the 2017-18 school year, we served an average of 77 Peninsula kids per day. One-fourth of our budget comes from individual donations.
