PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Scouting is about character development and having confidence in yourself to Be Prepared! The Boy Scouts of America
(BSA) is the largest youth organization in the U.S. with nearly 3 million youth members and 1.1 million registered adult leaders.
These members make up the 18 Clatsop County Scout units. Our program is a family program, one that could become part of
your family.
INVEST IN THE LEADERS OF TOMORROW
Together with your help, the Boy Scouts of America
will continue to motivate young people to make ethical
and moral choices over their lifetimes. Imagine having
the opportunity to inspire a youth to be a leader of
tomorrow.
The Boy Scouts of America, Cascade Pacific Council is
a 501 (c) 3 organization registered for charitable purposes
in both Oregon and Washington. Volunteer finance
committees work closely with staff members to oversee
both fiscal responsibility and sound investment strategies
for the council. Strict governance practices and annual
audits, performed by an independent audit firm, ensure
the highest integrity in the management of your
donation.
Your gift will ensure that over 21,000 youth will
experience all that Scouting has to offer.
64 • GIVING BACK 2018-19
On my honor I will do my best to do
my duty to God and my country and to
obey the Scout Law; To help other people
at all times; To keep myself physically
strong,mentally awake, and morally
straight.
VOLUNTEER
Scouting relies on volunteers. Volunteers come from all
backgrounds and experiences. Plumbers, lawyers,
homemakers, teachers, doctors, janitors, and scientists—
people from just about every occupation imaginable—are
involved in leading youth to become responsible, caring, and
competent citizens. They also quickly discover that Scout
volunteering lets them learn new skills and build lifelong
friendships while having fun.
