OCTOBER 11, 2018 // 17 Two musical nights at Labor Temple Get Robb’d in Manzanita MANZANITA — Terry Robb returns to the North Coast for an intimate acoustic blues concert at the Hoffman Cen- ter for the Arts, 594 Laneda Ave., at 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13. Admission is $10. Robb’s unique blues sound — incorporating elements from the Missis- sippi Delta music tradition, ragtime, country, swing and jazz — has made him a leg- end among blues musicians in his prolific music career spanning four decades. He has an award named after him in recognition of his landmark contributions to acoustic blues in the Pacific Northwest. Robb was born in British Columbia, raised in the U.S. and lives in Portland. ASTORIA — The Labor Temple Bar will host a Night of Dubstep/House Music with Portland DJ Forrest Avery at 10 p.m. Friday, Oct. 12. No cover. In addition to being a renowned DJ and chart-topping music producer, Avery is the owner of the label Serial Sickness and the founder of the Northwest House Music Conference. The next night, at 10 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 13, the Labor Temple hosts three bands. Headlining is Muddy River Night- mare Band, a four-piece garage punk group from Portland. Three local bands will perform: Christie & McCallum, with Peter Christie and Suzanne McCallum, playing country and rockabilly fa- vorites; The P- 59s, playing a set of Lennon and Beatles tunes; and the Jesse Lee Falls Band, a popular funk- rock combo. Admission to this all-ages event is free. There will be a complimentary beverage and lasagna included.
