2B THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 21, 2018 Local coalition announces grant opportunities Astoria School District recognizes Friends of the Column The Daily Astorian The Clatsop County Cul- tural Coalition is funded by the Oregon Cultural Trust to award funding that supports, maintains, preserves and pro- motes cultural programs in visual and performing arts, as well as heritage, and human- ities-based projects within Clatsop County. Individuals and groups within the county are eligi- ble to apply for grants for pro- grams and/or activity occur- ring from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31, 2019. Funding is available for up to $2,000 per project; more than $10,500 will be distributed. Successful grant applicants will be notified by Dec. 1, and invited to receive WEDDING Schacher — Agalzoff Craig Hoppes, Astoria School District On Sept. 12, the Astoria School District Board recognized the Friends of the Column, a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation, stewardship, and public education related to the Astoria Column. Friends of the Column donated yearly memberships to all school district staff, allowing school families to enjoy local history. The groom is the son of Michael and Lori Agalzoff of Astoria. The bride was given in marriage by her father. Pas- tor Tim Rarick performed the ceremony. Maid of honor was Alex Still of California.
