Pacific Unitarian Universalist
During the summer, the Pacific Unitarian
Universalist Fellowship meets at 11 a.m. Sun-
days in the Performing Arts Center, 588 16th
St., for a short service followed by a themed
discussion.

“#Metoo: An opportunity for men and women
to share views,” led by Rev. Kit Ketcham;
Aug. 19, “Combating Hate Groups: Southern

emergency shelter for homeless
persons needs volunteers for three-
hour shifts from evening through the
night to help with welcoming guests,
serving dinner, cleaning the kitchen,
monitoring the sleeping area over-
night, and closing the shelter in the

Clatsop Community Action
Regional Food Bank — Volun-
teers needed to help hand out
fruits and vegetables at the weekly
produce pantries for two hours on
Thursdays, from April to October,
in Seaside and Warrenton. Ware-
house attendants are needed for
food packing or processing, picking
orders for agencies, light janitorial
and housekeeping, or lawn and
grounds maintenance. Three to
four-hour shifts are available Mon-

Haystack Rock Awareness

— Certified ombudsman volunteers
advocate for the rights, care and
dignity of the elderly and disabled
living in licensed long-term care

Ombudsmen talk to the residents,
investigate complaints, and work to
resolve problems. Flexible sched-
ule, four hours a week, mileage re-

ican Legion Scholarship
Golf Tournament, a fund-
raiser for scholarships for
Seaside High School grad-
uates, takes place at 9 a.m.
Aug. 18 at the Seaside Golf
Course, 451 Avenue U.
Hole Sponsorships are
available at three levels:
Diamond Sponsor, $300;
Platinum Sponsor, $200;
and Gold Sponsor, $100.
Signs will be posted on the
sponsor’s hole noting their
contributions, and adver-

Trap/Neuter/Release/Feed (TNRF),
especially in the Seaside and Knap-
pa/Svensen areas. TNRF involves
setting and/or monitoring traps,
and daily feeding of cats and main-
tenance of any shelters, and is a
proven, science-based method that
along with spay/neuter programs is
the only effective and humane way
of ending cat homelessness and

The tournament format
is a four-person scramble,
with prizes for long drive
(men and ladies), closest
to the pin (men and ladies),
and team prizes to the top
men’s, ladies’ and co-ed
teams. Prizes are awarded
following the tournament.
The entry fee is $100 per
player, or $400 per team,
with putt tape and mulli-
gan packages available at
a cost of $40 per team. All
proceeds go to scholarships
for students.

Dog sanctuary seeks items for
rummage sale fundraiser

Angels For Sara Sanctuary
for senior dogs is holding its
fifth annual Rummage and
Bake Sale from 9 a.m. to 4
p.m. Aug. 17 and 18, at 269
S. Main Ave. in Warrenton,
to raise funds to support the
sanctuary, which is entirely
funded by donations. One
hundred percent of funds
raised go toward care of the
dogs.

donating gently-used or
new items for the rum-
mage sale should call 503-

sage. The event is also a
can drive, and there will
be bins set out to collect
cans and plastic bottles (no
