Christopher Jon Brown, 48, was taken to Columbia Memorial Hospital in Astoria after a car rolled over a num- ber of times on Warrenton Drive near 15th Street shortly after 11:30 p.m. He was later taken via Life Flight to the Oregon Health & Science University Trauma Center. Warrenton police saw Brown walking away from the car. Officers noticed a strong odor of alcohol but did not perform a field sobriety test due to the injuries, Warrenton Police Chief Mathew Work- man said. The case has been for- warded the Clatsop County District Attorney’s Office for consideration of charges. Though he carries a Wash- ington state driver’s license, Brown had recently been liv- ing in Hammond, Workman said. Ecola Seafood in Cannon Beach closed by fire The Daily Astorian CANNON BEACH — Ecola Seafood in Cannon Beach was damaged by a fire early Saturday. Firefighters received a report of smoke at the Spruce Street restaurant at 2:45 a.m. and were able to quickly knock down the fire. The restaurant had fire, smoke and water damage, with most of the damage on the first floor, according to Cannon Beach Fire Chief Matt Benedict. The cause of the fire is under investigation. Group seeks volunteers to clean up microplastics The Daily Astorian NRA, others sue Seattle over gun-storage law Associated Press SEATTLE — The National Rifle Association, Second Amendment Foun- dation and two Seattle resi- dents are suing the city over its new gun-safety law.
