JUNE 14, 2018 // 15 Westerport Winery holds Fleur de Lis Festival ABERDEEN, WASH. — Westport Winery will hold its annual Fleur de Lis Festival 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, June 16, at the winery’s garden resort at 1 S. Arbor Road, on the corner of Washington State Route 105, halfway between Aberdeen and Westport, Wash. This celebration of the re- sort’s 10,000 blooming irises offers activities for all ages, including a sculpture unveil- ing at 5:30 p.m. followed by live music from Six Pack Pretty on the patio from 6 to 8 p.m. The concert is free; all ages are welcome. The Grays Harbor and Pacific Counties’ Master Gar- deners will host a free plant clinic teaching guests how to dig, divide and transplant irises, using starts from the winery’s 15-acre display garden. Local artist and sculpture garden contributor Jeffro Uitto will display and sell his wood carvings during this event. Other vendors include The Jerky Gal, The Fancy Accent Tea Compa- ny, Olympic Mountain Ice Cream (with free samples), LuLaRoe, Sassy Seafood and Jill Haney-Neal. Neal, an artist, recently completed two new labels for the winery. Known for her Wild (but tasteful) Women drinking wine series, she was commissioned to create these labels. The new Duckle- berry Grunt vintage will be released at this event with Neal available to sign bottles and posters. Neal will have her fabulous prints, mugs, and cards available in the winery’s sunroom. The Olympic Mountain Ice Cream sampling will Dining Out launch the winery’s designa- tion as the latest location for the creamery’s fans to pur- chase ice cream to go. They are even creating their own Duckleberry Grunt sorbet! Lora and Kim Malakoff will unveil their latest sculp- ture in the winery’s Some- thing Blue Garden. This new sculpture commemorates the wine True North. Lora has previously installed sculptures for Peaches on the Beaches, Bella and, fittingly, Fleur de Lis. There are more than 60 sculptures by local artists in the resort’s gardens. Meanwhile, Six Pack Pretty combines soaring vocals, big guitars, a power- house rhythm section and a taste for good times! Whether it’s classic rock or modern hits, the band is guaranteed to have the crowd dancing and singing along.
