trict is inviting the public to

school improvement bond.
The events were resched-
uled from late last month
because of icy weather.
The tour starts at 5:30
p.m. Wednesday at Astoria
High School, before heading
to Astoria Middle School and
John Jacob Astor Elementary
School. The district will pro-
vide transportation on school
buses.
The district will hold a
community meeting at 5:30
p.m. Thursday at the mid-
dle school to gather public
input on the district’s facili-
ties needs.
Old Safeway parking lot closed for striping
The Daily Astorian
Restriping for the former
Safeway parking lots at 12th
and Duane streets, and 11th
and Exchange streets, is sched-
uled to begin Wednesday.
The lots will be closed
off at 5 p.m. today in prepa-
ration for this work, and will
be unavailable Wednesday
during striping. They will be
reopened as soon as possible.

ject to change due to weather

near Avenue U and charged
with driving under the influ-
ence of intoxicants, hit and
run and two counts of reck-

struck a car that was attempt-
ing to turn onto Avenue U
before continuing northbound
away from the scene. Her
blood alcohol content was
0.27 percent.
