He started the application process last fall, with a three-page essay about his 4-H experi- ences, activities, projects and recognition. Each congress applicant was required to participate in the 4-H Summer Conference at Oregon State Uni- versity and have personal interviews. At the con- clusion of the conference, 2017 delegates select- ed to travel to Atlanta this fall were announced. Samuelson was also selected as a state 4-H am- bassador for his second year.
