JUNE 1, 2017 // 3 Artist reception for ‘fi re’ artists New Seaside artist has fi rst solo show ILWACO, WASH. — Barbara Mal- lon and Bill Atwood, two local artists that use fi re in versatile ways, are ArtPort Gallery’s fea- tured artists in June. A reception will be held 3 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 2, at the gallery (177 How- erton St. S.E.). Their exhibit, “Origin of Myths,” include many of their pieces. Mallon will demonstrate carving on works in progress, and she and Atwood will discuss their methods and creative processes. The artists “know the essential nature of fi re,” the gallery said in a release.
