CEO of Youth Service America Dear Steven: I couldn’t agree Global Youth Service Day rec- ognizes the solutions that young more. When young people are given the opportunity to help their communities thrive, they thrive, too. I encourage all my young readers to celebrate Global Youth Service Day this weekend and find ways to keep shining all year long. Dear Annie: This is regard- ing “Charged-Up Spouse,” the aggravated man whose wife is constantly using and misplac- ing his phone chargers, result- ing in ongoing and frustrating searches. I have, I think, the defin- itive solution: He should look into a “key-finding” device. There are many inexpensive paging/tracking devices available today. The receiver is typically attached to your key ring and emits a loud beep whenever the transmitter is activated. Though these are often marketed for find- ing keys, they can be used for any item. In this case, the receiver would simply be affixed to the phone charger instead of to his car keys. And unlike the colored tape option, this solution would not require that the missing charger be within his actual line of sight. I’ve used these devices myself, and I have found them consistently effective and reliable. — Mike K. Dear Mike: A modern solution for a modern problem. I like it. 3C TOMORROW’S HOROSCOPE By Holiday Mathis, Creators Syndicate Inc. ARIES (March 21-April 19). Once you figure out that you’re not going to get what you need or want from the situation, move on. Don’t wait, argue, negotiate or give it another chance. What you want is just around the corner. Head that way. SCORPIO (Oct. 24-Nov. 21). Your lifestyle is not for the faint of heart. It takes strength to handle responsibilities and deal with the needs of those around you. You will rise to the occasion in every way, though it does come at a cost. TAURUS (April 20-May 20). There’s a lot of futility in mental exercises such as weighing the options, delving into the history and con- sidering other assessments. Skip it. Get down this: Do or don’t do. Your gut will tell you. The only way to make things happen is to act. SAGITTARIUS (Nov. 22-Dec. 21). Diversity makes a group strong, and differences of opinion will be half the fun. As long as people respect one another and don’t invest too much identity in being right, it will all work out today. GEMINI (May 21-June 21). Communication is like music; it’s as much about the spaces as it is about the words. There is a good kind of silence and a bad kind. The bad kind is awkward. The good kind is attentive and purposeful, and it may even mean love. CAPRICORN (Dec. 22-Jan. 19). Tell people what you like about them. Mutual admiration gets a friendship started. Over time, this casual relationship is sure to blossom into something more substantial. CANCER (June 22-July 22). You’re totally focused on getting through your work, which happens to also be a lot of fun for you today. Research will be part of it. Go for the story behind the story. That’s where the gold is. LEO (July 23-Aug. 22). With the current state of Mercury, it’s hard to avoid taking in- formation out of context or reading too much into things, but do try. Also, go to the source for your information wherever possible. VIRGO (Aug. 23-Sept. 22). Your experience has taught you quite a lot about what to expect from situations like the one you face today. And yet, this one is slightly different. Reserve your judgments for later, as you’re likely to be surprised. LIBRA (Sept. 23-Oct. 23). You’ll be focused on developing your skills. This is a better way to spend your time than trying to make some- thing happen that is clearly not working. FRANK AND ERNEST BLONDIE THATABABY SALLY FORTH PHOEBE AND HER UNICORN B.C. LOLA DILBERT SIX CHIX BIZARRO MUTTS NON SEQUITUR BABY BLUES WIZARD OF ID ZITS ROSE IS ROSE AQUARIUS (Jan. 20-Feb. 18). You’ll pinpoint the culprit keeping you from being organized. More than likely, it’s a desire to get more things accomplished in a day than is reason- able to expect, thus causing the unfinished activities to pile up. PISCES (Feb. 19-March 20). Though small details that don’t go as planned — such as a missed phone call or appointment — are inconsequential, they may still throw off your rhythm. Detach and get into a breezier frame of mind and you’ll soon get your mojo back. TOMORROW’S BIRTHDAY (April 22). The obstacle in your path is completely sur- mountable, which you’ll prove in the next four weeks. Friends help you move up, over and on. In May, romantic notions become roman- tic actions. Bank your winnings in July; you’ll need the savings for what you want to build in October. Aquarius and Pisces adore you. Your lucky numbers are: 38, 10, 13, 27 and 19.
