This year’s theme is “Ghoul- ish Gala,” and the event also features games, a pie throwing contest, and enter- tainment from an improv comedy troupe, “Upfront Theater,” founded by Ryan Stiles from “Whose Line is it, Anyway.” The gala is the single largest fundraiser of the year for the foundation, and allows it to assist in serving the needs of the local com- munity with scholarships and international youth exchanges for high school students, upgrading the Broadway Park ield lights, sponsorship of the all night “alcohol-free and safe” Sea- side High School Grad Night Party, the Wishing Tree pro- gram and supporting the needs of local seniors. Worldwide, the foundations helps provide water and san- itation in remote villages in third world countries, and for the eradication of polio. A key component of the event is the many live auc- tion packages that can be bid on, including an Alaska Cruise, Arizona vacation, weekend ski retreat, North Carolina vacation getaway, and dozens of silent auc- tion items donated by area businesses.
