THE DAILY ASTORIAN • FRIDAY, AUGUST 26, 2016 NATIONAL DOG DAY The Kaplan family’s dog is Brody, a 5-year-old Rottweiler-Labrador retriever mix. Miss Honey Buns aka “Buns,” is nearly 13 years old. She is a Pembroke Welsh corgi owned by Bev and Eldon Russell. Coco is a German shorthaired pointer, 5 months old and Evelyn Laughman’s best bud. Ginger is 5 months old and a Labra- dor-pit bull mix. She lives with Eric Lempke in Astoria. Dan and Heidi Dlubac of Astoria love Jake, 10, and Jerry, 8. Jake is an Aussie/border collie mix and Jerry is all border collie. Nemo is a 3-year-old rescue Chihuahua mix with possibly pug and Jack Russell. Lorri Thompson’s family loves him dearly. Rodney was a 12-year-old bulldog. He brought many years of love to Suzanne Benscoter’s family, but died this year. Dexter is a 3-year-old Pomeranian- Papillion. She lives with Suzanne Benscoter. Porter, 5, is a shelter mutt, according to JoAnn Giuliani, who lives in Seaside but visits Astoria regularly. 3C Anniken is a 3 1/2 year old male cock- apoo. His caregivers are Greg and Tina Sawyer of Seaside. Dewey, 3 1/2, is sweet and loves tennis balls! He is waiting for his forever home at the Clatsop County Animal Shelter. Lincoln, 4, is a German shorthand pointer; Lexus, 12, is a Labrador-German wirehaired pointer mix; and Ivy, 14, is a border collie/Australian shepherd mix. They are remember- ing 9/11 with Mary Freel. Lola Fagerton, 3, is a Labrador mix, pos- sibly whippet. She lives with Meredith Payton and Jon Fagerland. Murphy, 8, is an adopted akita/Belgian shepherd mix living with Mariah Rudolfi. Odie is an 11-month-old Chee-Yorkie (Chi- huahua and Yorkshire terrier). Rosie is heading out for a camping trip with the Gulleys. Ruby, 1 1/2, is an adopted pit bull mix who lives with Mariah Rudolfi. Abby is a Labrador retriever and lives with Kacie Hankins of Warrenton. Belle the Great Dane is pals with Katie Bjork. Butters is a red heeler, Lab and Dober- man mix. He lives with Kacie Hankins. Lulabell Swevrard, 8, is a cocker spaniel living with Brandy Sweeney-Evrard.
