Caption: Ten-year Local Option Tax Capitol Projects Advertising Tree Service Question: Shall the District impose $40,000 TAX each year for ten years for a Capitol project beginning in 2017/18. This measure may cause property taxes to increase more than three percent. Summary: This measure will impose a local option tax levy that will start in fiscal year 2017-2018 for ten years. The measure will impose estimated taxes of $40,000 each year for ten years for a total amount of $400,000. If approved the taxes will be used to fund payments on a loan for the construction of a new fire station building of the Elsie-Vinemaple Fire Dept. The taxes will be imposed in amounts of .75 cents per 1000 of assessed value in each year for ten years. The estimated tax cost for this measure is an ESTIMATED ONLY based on the best information available from the county assessor at the time of the estimate.
