Cleanline started out in a small space on First Avenue in Seaside that had originally housed his Dad’s (Dr. Needham Ward) medical practice for years. Since then, Gizdavich added a second location in Cannon Beach and the original Seaside location has since expanded when in 2010 he purchased and renovated the old City Library on Highway 101. From humble beginnings of just 600 VHS videotapes, the current library has grown to over 20,000 movies and video games. In the 80’s, video stores were plentiful. There were about ten video stores in the Astoria- Warrenton area when owner Neal Cummings opened his store in the old Taco Terrific building across from McDonald’s. Then, in the 90’s, Blockbuster and Hollywood corporate chains began taking over the video landscape, and independent video stores were put out of business all around the country. Only a handful of independently-owned video stores survived the onslaught. Moving across the street into the 6000-square foot Fisher Brothers building, over 12 years ago, helped Video Horizons survive. 750 A ST O R ST . • A ST O R IA 503-325-7310 Now in 2016, the landscape has changed once again. the corporate behemoths have toppled under their own weight. Netflix, Redbox and pay-per-view seem to be the people’s choices for their movies. But the strength of Video Horizons remains...affordability, selection and good customer service. Because Video Horizons provides so many copies of the hits, the previously-viewed selection of DVD’s has grown tremendously. The staff of Video Horizons would like to thank the good people of Clatsop County for their support all these years. SUPPORT LOCALLY-OWNED BUSINESSES!
