Grays River community indoor sale set for Saturday
ROSBURG, Wash. —
The third annual Community
In-Door Super Sale, a fund-
raising event for the Grays
River Valley Center (GRVC)
at Johnson Park is being held
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Satur-
day in the center, also known
as the old Rosburg School.
Food and beverages, pre-
pared by the center, will be
available for purchase, as
well as baked goods by the
Grays River United Method-
ist Church Friendship Circle.
This break-the-back-of-winter
sale event features a diverse
list of items offered by com-
munity and participants from
a wide area, including antiques
or vintage items, collectibles,
crafts, new and used or repur-
posed items, tools, and much
more.
The GRVC serves as a
community center for learning
and human development activ-
ities for Wahkiakum County
and the wider area of the
lower Columbia River. A com-
puter lab, an exercise room, an
exchange and lending library,
a gym that is maintained for
area school use and aerobics,
sewing classes, and a food
bank are among the many free
resources at the center that are
available to the community.
Contributions of nonperish-
able items will be welcomed at
the food bank on sale day, and
at any other time during their
open hours.

set for Tuesday
SEASIDE — The Asto-
ria Chapter Daughters of the
American Revolution hon-
ors Veterans of the Vietnam
War with a commemora-
tion from 3 to 5 p.m. Tues-
day at the Seaside American
Legion, 1315 Broadway.
Certi¿cates of appreciation
will be available; names
may be taken for later mail-
ing, or can be requested
prior to the event.
The chapter is one of the
9,000 organizations across
the country that have joined
in partnership for the Viet-
nam War 50th Anniversary
Commemoration. March 29
has been selected as that was
the date in 1973 that the last
of the U.S. armed forces left
Vietnam. All are welcome
to join in giving these veter-
ans the welcome home they
have long deserved.

$2,000 scholarship
SALT LAKE CITY —
Rebecca Lewis of Warrenton
has received the WGU Loves
Nurses Scholarship, which
is valued up to $2,000, from
Western Governors Univer-
sity (WGU). As a nonpro¿t,
online university that is com-
mitted to making higher
education more affordable
and accessible for every-
one, WGU typically awards
scholarships based on the
applicant’s academic record,
readiness for online study,
¿nancial need, and other
considerations.
These scholarships help
further offset the tuition of
about $3,000 per six-month
term for most WGU pro-
grams’ Àat rate, which cov-
ers all the courses a student is
able to complete.
