the bill Thursday niJht in
an effort to Jain support of

The reneZable enerJy

passed the bill last ZeeN.
“)or those of us that have

as a poZer source, this is
the most substantial piece
of leJislation Ze¶ve had,”
(dZards said durinJ a hear

had recently told (dZards
he planned to shut doZn

The House Committee
on 5ules ultimately voted
on Thursday to insert the
latest version of the reneZ
able enerJy bill, includinJ
the biomass provision, into
another piece of leJisla

House for a À oor vote. They
did so in order to revive the
bill after it stalled in the face
of 5epublican opposition in
the 6enate.
5epublicans in the 6en
ate, Zho oppose the bill, are
draftinJ a minority report.
There is no deadline to pro
duce the report, so the move
could prevent the measure
from cominJ to a vote before
the end of the session.
