The doors open at 6:30 p.m. General admis- sion tickets are available at the door for $10, or from any contestant prior to the event. There are eight contestants trying to become Miss Clatsop County or Miss North Coast 2016. For the teen titles, there are 12 competing. The pageant program features outgoing titleholders Miss Clatsop County Alexis Mather, Miss North Hannah Garhofer, Miss Clatsop County’s Outstanding Teen Liberty Olsen, Miss North Coast’s Out- standing Teen Hayliehe Bell, as well as Miss Oregon 2015 Ali Wallace. The co-emcees for the evening are Miss Oregon 2007, Kari Virding Christian- son, and her husband, Eric. A bene¿t dinner is being held at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Necanicum Room in the Seaside Convention Center. Tick- ets to the dinner cost $50, if available, and come with a $15 reserved ticket to the show Feb. 20. Reserved tickets are not for sale. The Miss Clatsop County contes- tants are as follows: Samantha Wozniak, 18, of Seaside, is a senior at Seaside High School. Her platform is “Children’s Miracle Net- work Hospital,” and her talent is jazz vocal performance. Haylie Moon, 20, of Cannon Beach, attends the University of Portland. Her platform is “Promoting Safe Communi- ties: The Importance of Volunteer Fire Departments,” and her talent is lyrical dance. Kayla Worwood, 19, of Astoria, attends Clatsop Community College. Her platform is “Maintaining Music Education in Schools,” and her talent is pop vocal performance. Tess Rund, 21, of Astoria, attends the University of Oregon. Her platform is “The Ideal Body is Your Own,” and her talent is jazz dance. Anna Kaim, 17, of Seaside, is a senior at SHS. Her platform is Democ- racy Starts with You — Promoting Civic Engagement in Young People,” and her talent is tap dance. Stacey Aho, 18, of Knappa, attends Western Oregon University. Her plat- form is “Every 15 Minutes,” and her talent is comedic monologue. Ryen Buys, 17, of Seaside, is a senior at SHS. Her platform is “Shri- ners Hospital for Children, The Impor- tance of Diagnosing Scoliosis,” and her talent is a cheer routine. Jessica Knehr, 18, of Warren- ton, attends the University of Oregon. Her plat- form is “Community Volunteerism,” and her talent is vocal performance. Stephanie Barnes, 13, of Scappoose, attends Scappoose Middle School. Her platform is “Senior Center Volunteer- ing,” and her talent is cheer dance. Caitlin Hillman, 13, of Gearhart, attends BMS. Her platform is “Dance Movement Towards Better Health,” and her talent is lyrical dance. Hallie Mossman, 14, of Warrenton, attends Warrenton High School. Her platform is “Saving and Promoting the Arts,” and her talent is playing the alto saxophone. Viola Soprano, 15, of Seaside, attends SHS. Her platform is “Jump for Life,” and her talent is jumping rope. Serena Moha, 13, of Warrenton, attends Warrenton Grade School. Her platform is “Promoting Health and Wellness Among Youth,” and her talent is tap dance. Riley Mitchell, 13, of Warrenton, attends WGS. Her platform is “Chil- dren’s Literacy,” and her talent is sign language. Lilly Booth, 13, of Clatskanie, attends Clatskanie Middle-High School. Her platform is “Healthy Eat- ing Active Lifestyle (HEAL) in Rural Communities,” and her talent is lyrical dance. Isabelle Clement, 13, of Astoria, attends Astoria Middle School. Her platform is “The Hands that Feed Us: Promoting Farm to Table Food Through 4H,” and her talent is ballet en pointe. Emma Graham, 14, of Astoria, attends AMS. Her platform is “Clat- sop Community Action — Food Bank,” and her talent is classical vocal performance. Taryn Miller, 13, of Scappoose, attends SMS. Her platform is “Lupus — Raising Awareness,” and her talent is lyrical dance. The Miss Clatsop County Scholar- ship Pageant is the of¿cial preliminary competition of the Miss Oregon Schol- arship Program and is part of the Miss America Organization, a scholarship provider for women. The winners will go on to represent the county at the state pageant in June in Seaside. A random draw by 2015 Miss Clatsop County’s Princess Halle Moore and 2015 Miss North Coast’s Princess Amara Ames from 23 princesses will also take place, sending two girls to the Miss Oregon stage. The Miss America Organization is a non-pro¿t corporation established solely to provide contestants with the opportunity to enhance their profes- sional and education goals, and to achieve those pursuits with the assis- tance of monetary grants and awards. Valentine’s Day dance set for Saturday Clay Williams, Astoria High School Student Body president, is holding a Val- entine’s Day-themed dance at 2 p.m Saturday at Clat- sop Retirement Village for his senior project. More than 80 residents are expected to make an appearance.
